VTN Membership Requirements
The potential candidate must be a true value-added solution provider and not an enterprise, direct marketer, e-tailer or ISV.
- Business requirements:
- 50 percent of business must be end-user SMB business.
- End-user focus; one to 1,000 employees.
- Certification/Authorization requirements:
- Each location must have two sales authorizations (at least one from IBM/Lenovo or HP). Additional authorizations may include Apple, Dell or Toshiba America.
- A+ CompTIA Certification
- Each location must have two service authorizations (at least one from IBM or HP/Compaq). Others may include Apple, Cisco Systems, Dell or Toshiba America.
- Each location must have one software authorization Microsoft MCP or above, or Novell CNA or above.
- Each location must have one printer authorization from HP or Lexmark.
- VAR must have at least two field sales representatives to ensure outbound sales.
VAR Membership Commitment Requirements
- Exclusive Ingram Micro SMB partnership: Candidate cannot be a current member of a competitive distributor program.
- Ingram Micro market share: 65 percent of annual distributor sales must be through Ingram Micro. Subject to availability and price.
- Must have strong Ingram Micro credit standing and sales profile (combined product and service sales of $500,000 annually for primary markets and $300,000 annually for secondary markets).
- $2,000 annual (billed on a quarterly basis) membership fee.
- Attendance required for at least one VentureTech Network Invitational annually. Local chapter attendance is strongly encouraged.
- Members must submit annual financials to Ingram Micro Credit within 90 days of their fiscal year end.
- Participation in the annual Profit and Compensation Surveys is required.
Steps to Join
- Contact your Ingram Micro account executive to learn more. They will provide you with an electronic kit, which includes: VentureTech Network program overview, value proposition and membership forms.
- Send completed application and paperwork to your Ingram Micro account executive for review. VAR's application must be reviewed and approved by Ingram Micro and the VTN Advisory Council.
- Complete and maintain online product and service profiles.
